Toy Food

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVvhxwtFsnE

http://www.lemondemon.com/downloads/Toy%20Food.mp3

This was a return to a sort of rushed creativity that I haven't had a chance to do lately-- I bought the toys one day, recorded the song the next day, and finished the video the day after that.

That's debatable. :P

Is there an overall concept that I'm not picking up on other than "food is toy, do not eat?"

Entertaining none-the-less! And the song is catchy, of course.

Well, I don't see that many other new artists writing songs about toy food out there, do you? I think this is interesting. ^__^

Yeah, it's not deep insightful philosophy, but it isn't meant to be.

This kind of stuff is what Neil does best. Taking mundane concepts and transforming them into something silly, surreal, fun, and imaginative. I guess the ability to see the fantastical in anything can be considered genius in a certain way. ;)

Why would anyone make toy food? I don't get it.

For children's tea parties?

yeah like those fischer price kitchen sets! Or the grocery store things where you "shop" and ring up items at the checkout... just to play with in a few different ways. I had a cooking set. Bowls and a little plastic fridge with a little sink and stove stickers. I remember trying to bake cupcakes--little plastic yellow ones with Icing Caps that you could stick on and peel off.

I'm a nineties kid! =]

We had boxes full to the top of toy food. Much like Neils, except ours had little velcro on the burgers and lemon halves and what not, so that we could make the food to our personal choice i.e. If I didn't like pickles, I could skip them in my burger making and attach the tomatoes or whatever instead! =]

Erm, no...I'm sure they were plastic...Maybe in England they're different..?
But still, it was velli fun making gourmet burgers to our choice of filling ^.^ (<--Oh, the joys of ASCII art)
\_/

I wonder if the velcro ones are still around... o.O

Did she see the funneh side of it or was she just plain cheesed off?

Wow. Never used that phrase before...cheesed off..it's strange. Is there cheese in the songey/videoey thingie? Who knows...I certainly can't be arsed to watch the whole thing again to search for some cheese loolza so I will leave that for somebody else to undertake... ;]

Wow, that's great! I was surprised, since you made it so fast.
Your songs, videos, and concepts are way better than most of the bands that are out there now.
Now listing to it for the 3rd time....
Video is well edited, for a second It looked like you were really eating the fake food. XD
Only thing wrong is the slight movements between shots.
Anyway, really funny and out there. XD

Big suit vs. big ol' head. I heard tell a couple years ago you could get Bill Nye to come to your birthday party for $1,000 an hour plus flight and hotel, but apparently he's moved up in the warld!
